Finding 34x36 Jeans is Difficult - A Solution

Went looking for 34x36 jeans last week and it was more difficult than ever to find something. Here is how it went. First I find a style that I like, for me, I am looking for material that is not to heavy, and I want them relatively soft. I also want a nice fit, not to tight. Then I search for 34x36 and get so frustrated when there is absolutely nothing! I then see the big and tall section and it is really just big, nothing in a 34 waist, argh, should have known better, never find 34 waist in big and tall. So now what do I do? What do you do?

Here is what I suggest. Choose the correct waste size, try on a 34x34 or even 34x32, forget about the length. If you like everything but the length, make a note of the brand and style then go home and search the Web. Unfortunately this takes some preparation, you need to take along a pen and piece of paper, but this does reduce "impulse buying" and you will likely save a few bucks. Online you will have a better chance of finding the right length and when they arrive, you know you will be happy with the fit, feel and look because you already tried them on.

I walked into a JCPenney's store and loved the selection of jeans but nothing 34x36, but when you go to their online store there is a great tool that lets you select your waist and inseam and I found a HUGE selection of 34x36 pants and 34x36 jeans. It is like a candy store. I am seeing more Websites that do this, let you select your inseam and waist size and then show results that match.

Try The Buckle, they are at almost every mall and carry 34X36. Try American Eagle online, try Lucky Brand online, Banana Republic, Gap, Nordstrom. If you don't mind spending the money, Neiman Marcus also. BTW, American Eagle jeans are cheaper than Levis. I used to think that Levis was the only option for me, now I have MEK, Rock Revival, Lucky, BR, Mavi, etc!

I have just decided to stop settling for 34 length. And I am going to try the Buckle.
And I don't know if it is discussed elsewhere, but I have had success for shoes with my local Red WIng store.

I apologize if this is posted somewhere, but from what is implied by those links of yours and my own expedition to the Men's Warehouse I am starting to believe that un-hemmed trousers might already be 36 or 38. Of course this doesn't help for jeans.

Old Navy online is great for 36 inseam pants. My two sons are sizes 34x36 and 32x38....and I am still on a quest for the 38 inseam pants! There is a website www.makeyourownjeans.com that will take all your measurements from your favorite jeans and make them, or you can send them a pair and they will clone them! Prices are reasonable, $40-55. I use this site for the dress pants they need for school.....I have not tried the jeans yet - ordered some last night! :)

The Buckle is great. I'm 6'6" with a 37" inseam and a 33" waist.

I have at least 8 pairs of BKE Tyler and Tyler Straight, in 33XXL. I even have a couple 32XXL and a 34XL that fit pretty good as well. You almost have to try every pair on, because they do vary. The few 33XXL's I have are the perfect fit. But, you do pay $70-$90 a pair.

I have 3 pairs of Big Star from the Buckle in 33XL and 34XL. I've not needed XXL in the Big Stars, as they run a little bit longer. And here you are $90-$110 usually.

I used to settle for 34x34 at JCP, but for 3-4 years now I've been buying from the Buckle and have a dozen pairs of jeans that really fit. Good luck!

I am 6' 3" and have the exact same problem. Occasionally I can find 34 X 36 Levi's at Dillard's or Shepler's. They are few and far between. I recently found 34 X 36 Lucky jeans for ~ $35 a pair @ Nordstrom Rack. I also found a couple pair of Big Star for about the same price. The Big Star's are now my favorite jeans. I will try Buckle the next time I go on the hunt for jeans. Like others have said, You have to try on every pair. I have tried on jeans that are the same cut and style from the same manufacturer and they fit completely different.

Great site...thanks for the ideas. My boys are both tall and thin. I have found 34x36 pants in store at Kohl's and JcPenney but only Levi's brand. Kohl's only has them in the 505's and 501's.

First off, if you're biggest problem is finding 36 inseam, you are in great shape figurative and literally.
I like Buckle, Rock Revival and of course True Religion. Thirty six inseam guys rule.
