Mens Tall Pants Index

34x36 Jeans, Dress Pants, Sweat Pants, Casual, and Light Weight Hiking Pants

A summary of brands, comments, and links. Many of these I own and love.

SCR Sportswear Sweats and Joggers
Amazing selection and product

These are my Go To tall sweat pants. Large is 33-35 waist. They also have 36 inseam and even 38 inch inseam in 30-33 inch waist pants. I am up in the Northeast now so these are especially handy and used, super comfortable and just the right fit, not too tight but snug and not too baggy.

The Joggers are just a tad less dense and I will use these for warmer days.  Did I say that I love these sweats? I do.

Lands End, Various from dress to jeans
Best price for dress pants. Great selection of 34 waist, 36 inch inseam (and even longer, like 34x38).

L.L Bean Hiking Pants
REI 34x36 Trail and Hiking Pants

Eddie Bauer
Great selection of 36 inseam
  • Eddie Bauer also has a very large array of 34x36 pants here including Chinos, Jeans, Cargo, Dress, and Active.
Buckle
Fantastic selection of 34x36 inch jeans, even 38 inseam
  • Jeans - Link ($36-$179), last checked May, 2023
Under Armour Tall Sweat Pants
Nothing if you have a 34 inch waist and your are about 6 ft 4 or more. It is such a shame that us tall slim or tall medium waist guys are left out of buying some of the great high tech and stylish sweat pants that UA manufactures. "Tall" sweat pants inseam is 33.75, ridiculous. Last checked May, 2023.

Old Navy
  • Large selection 34x36 casual pants and jeans - Link. Last checked May, 2023. Great prices in comparison to many.
J.CREW
  • Nice selection Dress and Chinos, many 34x36 - Link ($60-$168, last checked May, 2023). Appears to cadre to slim sizes, though has some of each. Have not tried on any of these.
Banana Republic
  • Very nice selection of 34x36 pants, Link, on the expensive side, last checked May, 2023.

As mentioned in one of the blogs, if you have a store close you can try on 34x34s to get the style and fit you want then go online to buy.

JCPenney no longer stocks greater than a 34-inch inseam in their stores. Same thing with Levi's (at JCP and their own stores). You may be able to get them online.

Hi Ann

I get 32x36 from American Eagle all the time and they have a pretty good selection. You have to get them online though. I haven't been able to find them in store.

J.Crew has a pretty decent selection. Way over priced. If your timing is right you can find pants on clearance. I am 6'8" and 210 ibs, there 34(35/36 inseam fits me great. Good luck!

My son is 15 with a 40" inseam. I think 38" inseam sweatpants would work. It's cold now and he only has 2 pairs of pants and one is too short. Any idea where I could find some?

Sweat pants are about the hardest thing to find. Land's has long inseams pants, to 38, but what they call their tall sweats, are a mere 32inch inseam. Eddie Bauer sweat pants report 34inch inseam in tall. The Eddie Bauer sweats ran long when I bought mine a couple years ago, more than 36inch inseam in reality, not sure if the current ones run long.

Under Armour also has a tall sweat pant, report at 34inch inseam, now reported as "out of stock".

My recommendation is Eddie Bauer tall sweat pants, and cross your fingers that they still run long.

Long sweats are so hard to find.

I found this "Build Your Own" Sweatpants for $22-27 here:

I also like Oliveo Make Your Own Jeans.

Hope that helps!
Sincerely,

My boss wears a 36x36 pant and is looking for a high end fashionable sweat pant. He refuses to believe they are not abundant because of basketball players. Does anyone know where I can find some? We are talking Prada or Gucci quality.

Kuhl has several styles with a 36" Inseam... but forget about finding them in stores (Yes REI,,, you suck). Kinda expensive but quality pants.

... and another thing. "Tall" is not 34" Inseam MFr's. In addition, I know there are other guys like me out there 6'4" and 218 lbs who workout and don't have thighs like Ambercrombie models (f'ing skinny jeans). Make some damn clothes that fit athletic, muscular tall guys... PLEASE!

The brand Todd Shelton makes amazing custom men's jeans in essentially any inseam and waist you need. The jeans are made in the USA, which is a huge plus. www.toddshelton.com

Lululemon, kung-fu pants. Love mine. I'm 6.6 and they are still long on me. As long as you don't mind the 150 dollar price tag.

LULULEMON !!!!! So excited I have found this company ... Nobody else seems to realise tall is at least a 36 inseam ... They look reasonably ok as well.
Expensive but worth it!

Try "For the Fit". I'm 6'11" and they have pants that are too long for me.
