Tall (really) Nike Sweat Pants - Hopeful, Stay Tuned

So, I decided to give it a try and test the waters again, this time with Nike. As a 6ft 4 relatively slim male, one of my biggest frustrations has been finding tall sweatpants. I found one pair from Land's End years ago, but don't see them any longer. They were more traditional sweatpants, and there are other Sites with taller traditional sweatpants, not made from some of the high-quality fabrics that are out there for the rest of the population.

Stock online, why the heck not
They don't need to stock these tall (really) sizes in stores, I get that, takes up valuable shelf space for the masses of shorter people, but online, ONLINE, why the heck not? Its tradition and it sucks for us. I will not be deterred.

34-inch inseam is not tall for us
This morning I found some really nice training pants on the Nike Site and saw that they even had what they called "Tall" training pants. Now for anyone 6 ft 4 or taller, we appreciate that for most people 6ft even is considered tall and for those 6ft or a just a bit taller, a 34-inch inseam is likely just fine, but when you hit 6 ft 4, a 34-inch inseam looks like you are preparing for a flood. So for us, a 34-inch inseam is NOT tall.

Left out of high-quality fabrics
Nike and UA have some great stuff, great and great looking fabrics. Tall folks can buy high-quality, high-tech, fashionable, great feeling, great looking shirts, and tops, but that is it, sadly, no pants. Why can't we get some good quality, high-tech material like everyone else? I will not be deterred.

So I started my chat with Nike, below. And again, no fault to Allan, and he, in fact, he did a great job and I am hopeful that I will get a call. And if I do there could be some great news coming for all of you tall athletes, stay tuned, I will report next week. Please subscribe to be notified.

Nike representative Chat Transcript regarding Tall Nike Sweatpants / Training Pants.

Jan 6th, 2017

Allan: Hi, my name is Allan. How may I help you?
Allan: Hello there, Greg.
Greg: Hi. I am 6 ft. 4 and looking for some "tall" training pants. I see that you have "Tall", what is the inseam length please?
Allan: I understand that you wanted to make sure the inseam size of our tall training pants.
Allan: No worries, I can check this for you.
Greg: Thanks!
Allan: Your welcome.
Allan: Checking on it,
Allan: Thanks for waiting, Greg.
Allan: May I know what size you are usually getting for the pants?
Greg: 36-inch inseam.
Allan: I see.
Greg: 34 to 36-inch waist
Greg: 35-inch inseam would be ok even.
Allan: For the waist. 35-38 in is size L.
Greg: That is good to know. So, M is 32 to 34 for waist size?
Allan: Yes!
Allan: For the inseam.
35.5 = XXXL.
35.25 = XXL
35 = XL
Greg: And the inseam for tall?
Allan: This is for tall inseam.
35.5 = XXXL.
35.25 = XXL
35 = XL
Allan: What's good thing about Nike is that we have a great return policy wherein you can still use the item within 30 days and if it still doesn't meet your expectation,
Allan: you can definitely return it back to us for any reason and we will give you a full refund for it.
Greg: That might work. Nothing longer? I know that you guys outfit a whole lot of sports teams with tall people, basketball players 6 ft. 4 and a lot more, what do they wear?
Allan: Yes. That is a custom made requested by players themselves.
Allan: But for our stock products the largest will be XXXL
Allan: and tall inseam is 35.5
Greg: But I would think that you make "batches" of sweatpants for tall, relatively thin and athletic people.
Allan: No worries, you can return the item just in case that it will fit you.
Greg: If I have a waist size of 34, what is the tall inseam for that?
Allan: That will be 34.5 Tall Inseam.
Greg: I like these: https://www.nike.com/t/dri-fit-mens-training-pants-kgmMJm#
Greg: But I need 36-inch inseam, maybe 35 or 35.5 would work
Greg: Can I have some special made?
Allan: Right now, our customization is only available at our shoes.
Greg: But there are thousands of basketball players and athletes, even in high school that are tall and thin, what do we do?
Allan: This is the next option that you can take.
Allan: If you have a near Nike store to fit test the item. Please do. so that you can make sure about the size you need to take,
Greg: Tens of thousands of fit, tall, relatively thin athletes that need 36 inseams
Allan: Well for that. Most of them are getting the standard inseam that we have on the website.
Allan: That is why I am requesting for you to try first the item if you are not sure about your size.
Greg: No other way?
Allan: or our sizing.
Greg: I know that I wear 36-inch inseam.
Greg: And I know that I am 6 ft. 4.
Greg: And that my waist size is 34
Allan: but the sizing of Nike is different from what you expected. Correct?
Greg: OK, I will check, thanks.
Greg: Is there an outlet near me
Greg: Area code 77095
Allan: Please get the size M to make sure.
Greg: And is there a way to verify that they have "Tall" M or L in stock?
Allan: Can you provide me the style number of the pants that you are interested?
Greg: https://www.nike.com/t/dri-fit-mens-training-pants-kgmMJm#
Greg: Style: 889393-036
Allan: Thanks.
Allan: I can see here that this is the nearest. but I believe that this is still too far.
Allan: North Park Center - #352
8687 North Central Expressway
Suite 618
Dallas Texas 75225
2143634127
Greg: Nothing in Houston?
Allan: Yes.
Allan: I am sorry for this inconvenience.
Greg: And it is still hard to believe that only more overweight tall people can get 35 or 35.5 inseams.
Greg: Surely there is some way of getting what professional athletes get.
Greg: Why can they get a proper size but a much, much, much larger population can't?
Allan: I can suggest that please try first the size M tall so that you can get the tall inseam as well.
Greg: I know that it is not your fault, but it makes so much sense to me that there is a HUGE untapped market out there that is being ignored.
Greg: Like I said, I have a 36-inch inseam.
Allan: No worries, Greg. I will make sure to get this as a feedback so that this will be taken care off.
Allan: would there be anything else that I can help you with?
Greg: That's it, thanks for passing on the feedback. One more thing.
Allan: Alright go ahead.
Greg: What if I wanted to purchase 200 pairs of 36-inch inseam, 34-inch waist style: 889393-036. Can I talk to someone about that? A special, large order.
Greg: Or what is the minimum order for a large special order?
Allan: I am checking on it.,
Allan: Please bear with me.
Greg: Or can you give me a contact name. I would like to invest and resell because I know that i could resell them.
Allan: Oh! I see.
Allan: One moment, please.
Allan: Let me verify.
Greg: Thank you.
Greg: Maybe there is someone else that I could contact?
Allan: I am verifying this with my coach.
Allan: Please bear with me.
Allan: Alright.
Allan: Thanks for waiting, Greg.
Allan: We verified that you will be contacted by one of our Nike associate for the bulk order that you will be requesting.
Allan: I will be needing your contact number and email address for this one.
Greg: Thanks, very my email address provided then?
Greg: When should I expect a contact?
Allan: Please provide me your email and phone number.
Greg: via my email I mean
Allan: It will be 1-2 business days.
Greg: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Allan: Thank you.
Greg: Thank you very, very much.
Allan: would there be anything else that I can help you with?
Greg: Have a great day.
Allan: My utmost pleasure and thank you as well for your patience and understanding.
Greg: That is all
Allan: Thank you for chatting Nike.com. Have a great day.
